Media Plaster

Media Plaster is a Vancouver-based production company, founded by filmmaker René Brar to tell stories that are beautiful, smart, and cool.

ABOUT

Media Plaster was founded by filmmaker René Brar as an outlet for creative projects across film, television, and new media.

His first feature film as a director, TAYLOR’S WAY (2009), played festivals around the world and earned rave reviews and awards for its direction, cinematography, and naturalistic performances.

His second feature, MARTIN’S PINK PICKLE (2014), marked a homecoming for René and premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival.

As a television producer, René has created and sold original shows to NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures Television, Netflix, and Channel 4 in the UK.

Beyond that, he has worked with some of the most exciting voices in film, including Christine Vachon, Todd Haynes, and Ridley Scott.

René was born and raised in Vancouver. He earned a bachelor’s degree in film studies and a master’s degree in religion, both from Yale University.
